“Hemet PD and MSJC announced this week that they are teaming up for a PD internship program.
“Hemet PD will be hosting two interns during the fall 2012 semester. The internship is a semester class requiring students to work 180 hours of volunteer service. The students who complete the internship will receive three units of college credit.”
Blog:
This discussion never took place with the Board of Trustees. Which agency is liable in case of an accident during the 180 hours of “volunteer service”? In my opinion, this issue should have been brought to the full board for open discussion and discovery PRIOR to an administrative decision.
This is exactly what’s wrong with MSJC and it’s administrative process. The BOT is left out!

Mrs.Motte,
Did the Staff afford you and your fellow board members the information concerning this Program at the last BOT meeting ? Just wondering if the remaining attendees of the upcoming HPD Volunteer Program Class will be afforded three (3) College Credit Units? If so, who pays MSJC for this class attendance for the Semester? The Volunteer or taxpayer? If not, does the ACLU need to be notified of an possible violation !
