The “College Completion Project” was funded by Bill and Melinda Gates of the “Gates Foundation” for the purpose of comparative data to be used to determine why some colleges/universities across America have higher completion rates than others.
See “California-2Yr College” data link:
Blog:
The California-2-year college data is very interesting reading as overall completion rates are low with cost of FTES completion per 100 very high. Further review of said date would be an excellent research project for the Chancellor’s Office/Superintendent/President’s and Board of Trustees of the California Community College institutions.
Are more $$$’s the answer or more accountability for $$$’s spent? Administrative salary levels are high but how does one measure administrative competence? These completion results don’t validate the salaries being paid. Should taxpayers tax themselves for more dollars without increased results?
These are important questions every voter should be asking this November. Workload reductions from State budget cuts have been made on the backs of our students by cutting class sections.
