SFID/Bond Measure endorsed by MSJC Board of Trustees 4-1
July 22nd, 2010FYI
MSJC Board of Trustees voted 4-1 (Motte opposed) to place a SFID in the amount of $47 million dollars on the November 2010 Ballot. If passed, the bond would provide capital construction dollars for the buildout of a campus in the Pass area. According to state processes, said campus would not qualify for operating revenues or state match dollars until/unless said campus would serve 500 FTEs and become state approved.
Officials from the City of Banning, Superintendents from the Banning/Beaumont school districts, and MSJC retired/rehired counselor, Mike Rose, spoke in favor of the bond.
Blog:
Essentially the state doesn’t care if local District’s build campuses with local bond $$$. However, such actions translate into NO State $$$.
There are NO state funds available for centers not approved by CPEC…bond or operating.
Voters beware.
