Blog: Local agency/governing boards/councils are elected to protect taxpayers from plunder and abuse of power. Government agency oversight integrity will pattern that of it’s majority members. Unfortunately some of these elected folks are not there to fulfill the mission of the organization but rather to oversee large sums of taxpayer dollars for self-serving power and/or personal benefit.
For some oversight members, personal integrity appears to be in their wallets.
