Ex-officers to MSJC board: We warned you about police chief/PE
December 12th, 2009http://www.pe.com/localnews/rivcounty/stories/PE_News_Local_S_warn12.4343709.html
“Two former MSJC police officers say they warned college administrators and trustees a year ago about alleged wrongdoing by the police chief, but nothing was ever done about their concerns.”
“Jensen and Kuhl eventually turned their concerns over to the Riverside County district attorney’s office. Jensen said trustee Ann Motte is the only one who asked the college to investigate on its own, but he does not believe it conducted an investigation.”
“Investigators allege over a three-year period, some 85 percent of tows from college property were directed to Pirot’s even though the college had an informal two rotation among four companies.”
Blog:
After officer’s formal complaint, as trustee, I made numerous e-mail inquiries to district S/P relative to status of the internal investigation and release of findings. The Board Chair/trustees were made aware of possible “towing issues” in December 2008 by an inquiry letter from an outside towing company. The January 2009 BOT minutes indicate my own inquiry/comments concerning that letter. In May 2009 district responded to said towing inquiry stating MSJC did not have a towing rotation. In June 2009/HR memo states the district had two companies on rotation.

The former officeres all claim that Irma Ramos was involved or connected in some way, I believe them. How can anyone, in good conscience, deliver a press release like this?
“The District acted swiftly to ensure continued public safety and stability within the MSJC Police Department and hired an interim police chief in July 2009.”
If the District was concerned they would have taken acgtion in December, 2008, Not 7 months later. Anyone willing to spew nonsense like this in representation of your college should be fired for stupidity.
The MSJC president and BOT (majority) must feel that they are not only omniscient but omnipotent as well. While many constituents go to them with problems and concerns, they rebuke and rebuff their pleas, insights, and complaints, unwilling to acknowledge that any outsider could possibly know more than they do about the inner workings of their college. In fact, many others have a painfully clear view of how things really work, the underhanded dealings that take place, and the favoritism that runs unchecked. I daresay the evil that lurks at the top has lurked for many many years, and much of what is coming to light now is the fruit of a poisonous tree planted some time ago. It’s time for this board to step up to the plate, to put aside its personal agenda, to give up the Old Boys’ Club mentality, and take a hard listen to what people are saying, people who have been hurt by this college and its administration, past and present. Face up to it and make things right. Every day that passes, every time a new shocking news story hits the wires, you look more and more incompetent. But, worse, you appear to be unwilling to bring the truth to light. What happened to that transparency that was promised? As long as you keep dealing in the dark, you are destined to more of the same. If you want a different result, as in people believing in you again, you need to try a new tactic.
