California’s budget balancing act gets tougher/SacBee

“The LAO’s office suggested imposing a 4.6 percent salary cut on state workers next year, borrowing from state and local transportation projects, raising community college fees, releasing some nonviolent inmates early, altering the state’s “three strikes” law, and eliminating programs ranging from the California conservation Corps to the Commission on the Status of Women.”

The state needs to run these numbers and enact a new budget based on this formula. Bingo…a surplus!
