“A second lawsuit has been filed against MSJC in relation to its Police Department, this one claiming a that a clerical worker was coerced to resign under threat of felony embezzlement charges.”

The status of the investigative report has not been released to the BOT.
The MSJC PD began with a grant and grew to a budgeted expense of $1 million dollars. Current Chief Segawa was appointed by administrative delegation authorized by BP 7110, without a formal recruitment process.
District oversight of the PD began under the VP/Business Services and was later transferred to the VP/Human Resources.
