Grand Jury scrutinizes DA’s office/NCTimes
May 23rd, 2009“In a report released late Friday afternoon, the Riverside County Civil Grand Jury recommended District Attorney Rod Pacheco eliminate a nine-person administrative unit that costs almost $500k a year and return the money to the cash-strapped county.”
“The grand jury noted that some prosecutors feared being transferred or reassigned to other offices and as a result would be reluctant to make decisions on their own.”

Every public agency in the state has more administrative costs than necessary. This is the first place the legislature/governor should start to cut waste. Unfortunately, these guys are in charge of agency budgets. Such power plays, occurr in every public agency and taxpayers lose. Those who tell the truth are often those most harassed. Arrogance is the root problem.

Ann, I completely agree with these comments. We have all seen these to things happen at the college. The “arrogance” of the district has cost the taxpayers plenty.

The board has repeatedly ignored the truthful costing taxpayers’ money, students classes and employees employment.
And, lets not forget, the police department which has released 4 truthful officers and left itself with :
A Chief of Police, that is under criminal investigation.
A Corporal that violated Department and District policy, Ethical and Moral standards for Police Officers, the public trust, and the law (Recently committed Perjury Lied) in court.
1 Officer who is implicated in numerous complaints with regards to assaulting a coworker, dishonesty and incompetence.
It appears that the allotted $1,000,000 is truly a waste at this point.
Interesting that those that “told the truth were harassed.”
No investigation is under way to resolve said issues…” Arrogance is the root problem”
Once again, Ann is right on with her blog.
