Subterfuge
November 25th, 2008FYI
Per the S/P, regarding a PD claim, the district “denied the claim” at the November BOT meeting. A claim which according to Government Code 945.4 should have been on the open agenda and was not.
However, per the district’s PIO statement issued November 21st, no claim has actually been filed.
“Presently, the District has not been named as a defendant in any tort claim or lawsuit regarding matters involving the police department, nor has any complaint regarding the police department or its officers actually been filed.”
Blog:
May-be Board Chair Sparkman can explain the two contrary answers. The vote by the BOT contradicts the PIO statement. Will there be a correction?

Ann, more lies from your Public Relations, Chief and the College Administration. I know for 100% FACT that a signed personnel complaint has been made against current Officer Ryan Myers. This complaint was handed directly to Police Chief Kevin Segawa on October 18th, 2008 at the Menifee Valley Campus police station. As of today, November 25th, 2008 this signed personnel complaint has not been investigated. Not a single witness has been interviewed and the Chief has taken NO action regarding this complaint.
Why not call Chief Segawa directly tomorrow and ask him about this signed personnel complaint?
Once again Ann it appears the College administration has been providing false information to the public and to the Board of Trustee’s. How much longer is the BOT going to tolerate this administrations lies and misdeeds?
I remember when lying to the Board was a serious offense. But when you think about all the lies and dishonest acts of Giese and Tyler that were ignored by the Board majority what would one expect now? Makes me wonder if all this misconduct is limited to only the PD? The District does not suffer from poor supervision, it suffers from no supervision. Do you suppose the administors keep looking for poor supervision, can’t find any and then conclude that’s not the problem?
If somebody, anybody, admitted to a simple mistake and took responsibility, this thing would be over. But that’s not the prevailing culture. They probably think the whole thing will go away over the weekend, and it’s no big deal anyway, being dishonest with the Board and the public.
Ann, are you aware the former president of the College, Dr. Jon Tyler, is now in partnership with the principal partner of the districts law firm? Weird how Dr. Tyler placed Kevin Segawa in the Chief position, re-organized the department so he could oversee the department and was also influential in the hiring of Irma Ramos, who now supposedly oversees the police department and the law firm (headed by Dr Tylers now partner) are investigating all the allegations against Kevin Segawa and the District are all tied together.
Does anyone else see a HUGE conflict of interest here? Check out:

Good golly gosh … looks like the tail is wagging the dog (again) and the most corrupt of the bunch gets to do the investigating. Well, that’s sure convenient.
This is getting very interesting. Better than watching the novelas!
Ann, can you please chime in on this? Is this not very disturbing too you? Was the B.O.T. aware of this arrangement?
As one board member I have not been made aware of this arrangement. Yes, this is very unsettling to me and I will be discussing such with the S/P.
