“The goal of Puente is to assist students in transferring to four-year universities with strong writing skills.”
Blog:
The Puente Project at MSJC, was dismantled under Richard Giese upon the retirement of the faculty/counselor program coordinator. Time will tell how many enrollments in the program actually transfer to a 4-year institution and at what cost to the taxpayer? The salary expense of a full-time counselor would cover the cost of many additional class section offerings which actually would assist to increase FTES and revenue.

“educationally underrepresented students”?
Has the acronym “ESL” already become a dirty word?
