Regarding Jon Tyler’s comments on the logo citing California Education Code 7054.
“The code section prohibits use of community college district funds, services or equipment, including MSJC’s intellectual property.” Jon Tyler
Blog: Read it yourself.
There is no mention of “intellectual property” in the code and No “district funds services or equipment” are supporting Greg Barkers campaign.
Jon Tyler has misquoted the law by adding non statute language, which purposely misinforms the public. Typical of the “obnoxious and divisive” leadership at MSJC and meant to intimidate.
Its “much ado about nothing” purposed for negative press on Greg Barker and makes the leadership and administration look all the more preposterous.

Ed code 7053, posted on this website says in part: “No one who holds any office… shall threaten… any person from securing any position within the local agency…”
Well what do you suppose Jon Tyler did when he threatened Greg Barker with legal action according to a passage in Ed Code 7054 that he made up?
The gripe about the logo came from Citizen Kadow, there is no doubt. The question to ask is why was it sent on letterhead with a different logo and can any reasonable person determine what the college logo is? The MSJC with the C in a block was a failed attempt to have a new logo adopted a couple of years ago. Marchese put it on things as a sample and some people use it. The college is now searching for a new logo and the college community has been told to use the eagle logo until that time. This is an attempt to detract from the issues at hand: Access for students and the well being of the college. It also detracts from the fact that over 90% of the full time faculty and some of the over five hundred part time faculty voted no confidence in Gene Kadow, Gwen Slange, and Joan Sparkman!
