FYI
“Mt. San Jacinto College officials contend they are not at fault for the overpayment, as they contracted with Maas, not Giese, for the services.”
“We don’t know what Maas paid Giese,” Bill Marchese. “He may have been doing other work that would have accounted for his salary.”
“Giese…..confirmed…..that his work was not limited to the ISP….”
Blog:
Article 9 of the Maas agreement states “The Consultant agrees to perform services exclusively for the District, and expressly agrees not to undertake any conflicting duties to others…..”
Conclusion:
Giese’s comments affirm that MSJC paid for full-time ISP services and received part-time service. Giese received a golden handshake, his pension, full salary, IRA, and a side job with Maas, at the same time he was approving Maas invoices for construction management.?

” We don’t know what Maas paid Giese”,said Bill Marchese.
Doesn’t this mean Giese didn’t know what he was being paid? I don’t expect the PIO to be honest but he should try to avoid dishonesty. Perhaps he should read the STRS uncontested audit which directed the District to report the earnings by June 30 2007.
