The Valley Chronicle ran this article concerning the upcoming election of two MSJC trustees, Eugene Kadow and Joan Sparkman
Ten reasons to unseat Kadow & Sparkman and change the majority.
10) Admonished for Brown Act violations by Riverside DA 2005. Continuous disregard for the Brown Act.
9) Purchase of Banning campus site (2003), adjacent to Kadow’s residence. No due diligence re: CPEC approvals, development costs, mitigation factors.
8) Demand of a lease for the Temecula Education Center prior to due diligence of an Educational Plan.
7) No cost control of state capital construction projects. Consultant/construction costs are millions of dollars over state funding.
6) Directed policy to not provide information to a trustees inquiry. Information only accessible through California Public Record Act.
5) Proposed a $720,000,000 Bond without a comprehensive facilities plan and soft costs of $320,000,000 for consultants and management fees.
4) Defended a Giese/Maas third party contract which allowed Giese to “double dip” both salary and retirement income. State audit faulted college.
3) Dismissal of President Mark Zacovic for “no cause” without notice or a full board. Zacovic exceeded state growth performance targets.
2) 94% of Faculty voted “No Confidence” in these board members to govern.
1) Over six years supported leaving millions of dollars of unearned/available state growth funds at state table having an accumulated permanent loss of $10,000,000 for every future year.
