The races are on/Record Gazette

The Record Gazette of Banning posted this article today in regard to election races for November. In the article, Gene Kadow states that “Barker is running at the request of MSJC trustee Ann Motte, who has become his vocal critic after voting to elect him board president.”
Greg Barker quotes:
“There’s a lot of things that need to be more transparent to teachers and students.” “We need to make sure we’re using all the available state funds.”
“We could have had a satellite campus five years ago if Gene Kadow had been doing his job.”
“The college is being micro-managed by people at the top and is shocked at the decision to open a counseling and registration office in Banning, even though MSJC has no classrooms in Banning.”
Blog: Typical of Mr. Kadow.
Greg Barker was recruited by the faculty and PAC and introduced to me after that fact. Greg Barker has my support and greatest wishes for a successful campaign against Gene Kadow. He will bring honest and open collaboration to the board of trustees, and a comprehensive knowledge of real estate and land experience.
My vote was a olive branch to Kadow and a good faith gesture to uphold and support a new administration and culture of transparency brought to the college to Mark Zacovic. The college was now meeting/earning all state growth funding targets, with new enrollment growth being the highest in the state. I was hopeful for a spirit of cooperation at the board level. Two months later, Kadow disregarded a “good faith agreement” made in January, to not discuss Zacovic without a full board presence and in February, Kadow and two trustees, without notice, and for “no cause” dismissed Zacovic on a 3-1 vote.
Conclusion: A promise from Kadow has zero value. It means nothing.
